Services

Bookkeeping services, spelled out.

Maybe you’re six months behind. Maybe you just opened and want it set up right the first time. Here’s exactly what I do and what’s included.

01

Monthly Bookkeeping

Every transaction from your connected accounts categorized and recorded on a fixed monthly cycle.

  • Transaction categorization & coding
  • Chart of accounts maintenance
  • Monthly close on a set schedule — documents to me by the 5th, closed books and your report back by the 15th
02

Bank & Card Reconciliation

Bank feeds matched against statements line by line, so errors get caught while they’re still one line instead of a year of them.

  • Checking, savings & credit card reconciliation
  • Discrepancy identification & resolution
  • Clean records your CPA won’t bill you to fix
03

Financial Reporting

Monthly reports plus a short written summary — not a spreadsheet export you have to decode yourself.

  • Profit & loss statement
  • Balance sheet
  • Plain-language summary of what changed

04

QuickBooks Online Support

Setup, cleanup, and ongoing support from a Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor. Files that are already a mess are welcome.

  • New account setup & chart-of-accounts design
  • Cleanup of existing QBO files
  • Ongoing troubleshooting & training
05

Payroll Coordination

I work alongside your payroll provider rather than replacing it. You keep running payroll where you run it now — I make sure it lands correctly in your books.

  • Wages, taxes & employer liabilities recorded to the right accounts
  • Payroll clearing accounts reconciled each month
  • Payroll costs allocated where you need to see them, including by job

To be clear about scope: I don’t process payroll runs, pay employees, or file payroll tax returns. Those stay with your payroll provider or your tax professional. Included on the Professional plan and above.

See the work

This is what lands in your inbox every month.

Easier to show you than describe it. Below is a complete sample report for a fictional cabinet shop — the profit & loss, the balance sheet, and the plain-English summary that comes with them. It’s the same format you’d get.

A summary you’ll actually read

What changed this month, why it changed, and what I’d keep an eye on. One page, no jargon.

Statements with context

P&L and balance sheet with a prior-month column, so the numbers tell you a direction and not just a total.

Washington items tracked

B&O accrual and sales tax payable called out where you’ll see them, not buried in an account list.

No email required

It’s just a download. I’d rather you see the work before you decide whether to talk to me.

Northgate Cabinetry LLC is a fictional business and every figure is illustrative. Client financials are confidential and are never used as marketing material.

How we exchange documents

A private folder, just for you.

Once you’re a client you get your own secure shared folder for bank statements, receipts, and anything else I need. Drop files in whenever — no emailing sensitive documents back and forth, no hunting through a thread in March for something you sent in August. Bank feeds come through QuickBooks Online read-only: I can see your transactions, and I can’t move money.

Who this is for

Built for small businesses and startups.

Behind on your books

Months of uncategorized transactions? I’ll get you caught up and set up a process so it doesn’t happen again next year. More on catch-up & cleanup →

Just starting out

New business, new QuickBooks file? I’ll build your chart of accounts correctly now, so you’re not paying someone to untangle it in two years.

Outgrowing spreadsheets

If your spreadsheet is starting to crack, I’ll move you into QuickBooks Online properly and make sure nothing gets lost on the way.

Need reports you can use

Accurate books are the minimum. Your monthly report should tell you something you can act on.

Not sure what you need?

That’s normal. A free 30-minute call will tell you where your books stand and what it takes to get them current.
